Great to meet you!

I have been a licensed doctor of psychology for almost 20 years. I have always been a generalist, for one simple reason: It allows me to use different tools and techniques to fit the situation without seeing people or their concerns through the lens of a “specialty” skillset. I see adults, both individually as well as couples. I can meet online as well as in-office.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I use an eclectic approach. To use an analogy, I have experience using many different firefighting tools, depending on the fire. But we must also understand how your fires start so we can prevent new ones. You are the expert on your fires, and you know what has and hasn’t worked fighting them. My approach helps me fully utilize my training, experience, and skills in different scientifically validated firefighting methods to help you get to a place where you no longer need a firefighter

What you can expect from our first session

Research indicates counseling outcomes are better when people like and trust their therapist. I enjoy my profession when I feel connected and am able to help my clients. This only happens if we work together to agree on a set of goals and are open and honest with each other. For many, the goal is not a perfect life, but rather to address the issues that cause you to be “stuck”. Just like athletes can’t coach themselves, sometimes we need a different perspective and skill set to get better.
