What insurance networks are accepted on Headway?
Therapists on Headway currently accept Aetna, Cigna, Oscar, Oxford, United Healthcare, and all Optum affiliates. If we’re not taking your insurance yet, keep an eye out. We’re growing quickly and partnering with even more insurance companies to bring affordable mental health care to everyone.
Please note: if your plan is affiliated with Medicaid or Medicare, we will not be able to accept your insurance at this time. Reach out to us if you’re looking for some resources. We’re happy to send over some options that work with your plan.
Why do I need to add my payment information?
Your payment information is required to book a session, but you won’t be charged until after the session has occurred. Before the session, your payment information is only used to ensure that session payments and no-show fees can be collected.
If your sessions are covered entirely by insurance, we still ask for a payment method in case of any cancellation fees, which are always communicated ahead of time.
