LGBTQIA+, Substance Use / Addiction, and Trauma

Great to meet you!

My counseling practice focuses on adolescent, adults, with a specialized focus on LGBTQIA+ populations. As a gay man, I am held by deeply spiritual beliefs to help my LGBTQIA+ community whenever possible. I also treat religious trauma, addiction, dual-diagnosis, spiritual abuse, HIV, anxiety, gender identity, depression, divorce, grief and ways to cultivate self-awareness. I meet clients where they are in life and it is always my starting point while building a relationship to facilitate change.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I use a direct approach while in session with clients. For clients, I want to help guide the path towards acceptance as they set goals, find inner strength, and build social support to overcome obstacles, and confront challenges.

My therapy goals for my clients are to move from a place of uncertainty and suffering to growth, healing and understanding. I help clients set goals, build social support and discover new ways of understanding situations that happen in life.

What you can expect from our first session

Counseling is a deeply personal experience with a variety of time requirements depending on each client's needs.

When clients ask how many sessions it will take to work through issues, I respond by saying the decision to continue or end therapy is made in a collaboration between client and therapist as we move forward. Therapy is a process and may take months, yet the beauty lies in spending the time to heal all aspects regarding mental health.
