Great to meet you!

I use evidence-based treatments for mood disturbances, grief, body image dissatisfaction, relationship stress and counseling, PTSD, sleep disturbances, athlete performance and mental health, and life transitions. Clinically, my approach is informed by training in cognitive behavioral therapy while also being impacted by feminist, multicultural, existential, and interpersonal therapies. I received my PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I like to co-create goals for therapy that incorporate self-identified areas of focus for the client as well as collaborative ideas for how we can improve overall quality of life and functioning. We move generally from symptom management to growth-oriented topics in order to both relieve acute distress while also focusing on overall hopes for personal improvement in areas of social, occupational, or general life-satisfaction.

What you can expect from our first session

Clients who work with me will, above all, be supported and empowered to dig deeply towards a better understanding of themselves and their distress. Though sessions are powerful and are a great place to practice skills, my clients are challenged to utilize and familiarize themselves with these skills and concepts outside of our sessions in order to reap the benefits of the hard work they do in sessions.
