Great to meet you!

Hello, I'm Monica, a Counselor in Texas. I worked in the behavioral health field for several years. Before that I was a stay-at-home mom. My journey as a counselor began because I wanted to help guide people in managing their complex feelings and emotions, so they could experience a peace of mind and healthier outcomes in their interpersonal lives. I want my clients to feel safe opening up to me. I am empathetic, open-minded and inclusive. I honor all cultures, identities, and preferences.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe in the benefits of nurturing a therapeutic alliance with my clients by building rapport with them and helping them work on realistic goals with maintainable objectives that are meaningful in making their individual worlds a safer place to be in. I have adopted an eclectic approach to counseling by using key components of evidence based modalities.

What you can expect from our first session

I like to help clients feel comfortable discussing their problem by normalizing it in order to develop goals relevant to the person’s motivation and expectations. My ultimate desire as a counseling professional is to assist my clients in accessing the strength and power within themselves to change their thoughts, behaviors and look toward a better future.
