Great to meet you!

Hello, I am so glad you have made it here. My name is Kate Nelson-Dooley and I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker. I have over 15 years of experience providing mental health services to children, families, and older individuals. Recently, I transitioned my practice to a virtual platform so you can receive quality mental health treatment conveniently and in the privacy of your home.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I am a person-centered clinician; you and your family will be the focus of our time together. I use playful and creative techniques during our time together so it won't just be talk therapy, unless that is what you desire. I use supportive psychotherapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Solution Focused Psychotherapy techniques during our sessions. I work with individuals who have ADHD, Autism, Anxiety, PTSD, Dementia, and Mood Disorders.

What you can expect from our first session

You will be able to pick where sessions take place since they are provided virtually. Virtual psychotherapy is incredibly flexible because you can take it anywhere. Typically, we would work together to create goals specific to your needs and wants. Additionally, we would work together to create a plan for you to follow after treatment ends. Occasionally, I will check in with you to gauge how you feel the treatment is working for you. Ultimately, you will guide the treatment.
