Great to meet you!

I work to stay current with new research and wide-ranging ways of understanding and healing our suffering. I believe all people have a deep well of resources for healing and growth within them that life experiences and the noisy world cover up. The work, as I see it, is about regaining access to that well through attention to patterns of thoughts, emotions and physical sensations. I work best with people who are ready to change. Whether you know how is less important than your willingness.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I take a very active, mindfulness based approach to each meeting. Each client learns a way to practice with awareness and compassion so they become the agents of change for themselves. We take a thorough stock of what is most important and what gets in the way, so that clients have the ability to compose and embody a well lived life story. Specifically, we use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and practices of somatic and compassionate experiencing.

What you can expect from our first session

I work with people to experience things differently. To engage with themselves actively and compassionately. Every session will end with plans to practice something small but new; a way to relax, something to pay attention to, a short daily meditation. It is through small daily practice that people experience meaningful change.
