Great to meet you!

I find that I work well with clients who have had relational trauma that affects their current relationships with themselves and others. This can often present in the form of negative self-talk and self-esteem, perfectionism, persistent feelings of guilt and shame, anxiety, and depression. I have ample experience working specifically with those who have a history of abuse from a partner, friend, or family member, adult children of narcissistic parents,LGBTQIA+ and religious trauma.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I utilize a client centered approach and incorporate family systems as well as cognitive behavioral therapy to help my clients better understand themselves. I work with clients to collaboratively and problem-solve tools to make positive change. I am trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and utilize a trauma-informed approach when appropriate.

What you can expect from our first session

In our first session I will typically spend time getting to know you and what brought you into therapy. I will ask questions about what has been going on recently and gather some information about your history to better understand what may be contributing to some of your concerns. I believe that building trust with your therapist is important, and I aim to make this process as stress-free as possible, so I will always go at your pace and respect what you are wanting to bring into the session.
