My name is Demah S. Payne III, I graduated from NC State University with my Ph.D. in Counseling and Counselor Education. I have over ten years of experience of counseling experience working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have worked as a school counselor, crisis counselor, college counselor, and community counselor. I love helping people step in their greatness by integrating CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and a strengths based approach.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I strive to meet the needs of each client in the areas of anxiety, depression, grief/loss, imposter syndrome, lgbtqia+ issues, self esteem, racial/ ethnic identity concerns, social justice, and trauma. I love helping people step in their greatness. I utilize a person centered, narrative therapy, CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and a strengths based approach when working with clients.

What you can expect from our first session

I use each session as a safe space for clients to address any mental health concerns that they have. I collaborate with each client to establish and achieve their counseling goals.
