Great to meet you!

My name is Dante Valvo, LCSW, MFT, and I am a licensed clinical social worker who has been practicing in Colorado since 2018. I graduated from DU with a master’s in social work, Denver Family Institute with a certificate in marriage and family therapy. I have extensive experience working with a diverse clientele in individual therapy, group therapy, and crisis/triage evaluations. Additionally, I was a clinical supervisor for many years, supporting new clinicians in the field.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My chosen modality is primarily Psychodynamic; however, I also integrate Acceptance and Commitment therapy, Internal Family Systems therapy, and Emotionally Focused therapy. My approach is founded on compassion, humor, and a commitment to a strong therapeutic relationship. I aim to help clients find clarity, purpose, and resilience through both short-term interventions as well as long-term process.

What you can expect from our first session

In the immediate clients can expect short-term interventions that aim to build coping strategies to navigate any number of challenges in their lives. They should feel more equipped with discernment, emotion regulation, and knowledge of their innate skill set. Long-term, the goal is for clients to gain a renewed sense of purpose and meaning through growth in the therapeutic process. Ultimately clients should feel empowered to live richer and more resilient lives.
