Hi and welcome! My name is Colleen and I have been doing clinical work since 2012 in NC and Virginia. I recently retired as a School Counselor and have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults! I am particularly helpful in the areas of anxiety, anger management, LGBTQ issues, conflict and relationship problems. I look forward to working with you!

Building a strong relationship with my clients is important to me! We will spend more time in the first couple of sessions learning about you and what brought you to where you are today, it is so helpful for me to understand all the moving parts! I come from a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy approach and believe that our thoughts are an integral part of the equation that ends in our actions.

I will assign homework at the end of each session (trust me, it won't be too hard!) as I believe that the practice and time you give mental health between our sessions is just as important as the work you and I will do in them.
