Chinyere Ihejirika is a board-certified psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner committed to helping those suffering from depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, attention-deficit disorder, psychotic disorders, and substance abuse. She strives to help her clients and their families find balance and functionality through mental wellness and personal development.

I am a practicing psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) in Ohio, Arizona, and Texas. I have been working as a nurse for 20 years and in mental health for 10 years—and have loved every moment! I became a nurse practitioner to deliver a higher level of patient care, realize a greater scope of practice, and have increased job satisfaction. I wanted to participate in follow-ups and plans of care in a more meaningful way.

I was born into a culture where some individuals do not truly understand the impact mental health plays in our everyday lives. I want my clients to understand and believe it’s okay to ask for help and to be able to assist them. As an NP, I want to help my clients figure out different ways to live and be productive in society.
