Great to meet you!

Hi! I’m so glad you’re here today. My name is Abigail Garcia-Garwicki, but you can just call me Abby, and I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in Maryland. I have been in the field for over 10 years working in community based mental health/developmental services. I have had the pleasure of working with individuals living with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, parenting, life transitions, BPD, and complex trauma/PTSD to name a few.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In practice I like to have a more holistic approach pulling from various modalities, in particular EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy). My initial focus is to help you manage triggers that have led to experiencing uncomfortable situations. I am also an advocate of self-care and feel that building our self-care tool box allows us to better manage life's up and downs and process the emotions and daily life stressors in a more effective manner.

What you can expect from our first session

I like to meet each client where they are at and utilize the modalities that best suit their needs, in open, nonjudgemental space, that provides empathy and a place to feel empowered to reach your goals. I believe that by creating a safe space to feel heard and understood, we can work together to build self-awareness, acceptance, and personal growth to work through issues that have impacted your life. I look forward to beginning this journey with you!
