What is Zocdoc?

How to get started
Step One
Sign up

Visit the sign-up page on Zocdoc.com and select “Join now”

Step Two
Add your info
Fill out a simple form with key info about your practice. A Zocdoc representative will reach out ASAP.
Step Three
Build your profile

Add a profile picture and a bio.

Step Four
List your accepted insurances

Ensure that the right in-network patients book time with you.


You can find the insurances you are paneled with by accessing your insurance status page in the Headway portal.

Step Five
Set your referral settings to 24 hours

Most Zocdoc patients will be looking to schedule a session as fast as possible. You will first need to add your client to your Headway portal and ensure that they create their account and verify their insurance.


The 24-hour booking window will give you some time to manage your new patient acquisitions.

Step Six
Manage your referrals

Give yourself some time in the morning to check your Zocdoc profile for new referrals each day. When a new patient books, immediately add them to the Headway portal.

Step Seven
Contact and confirm your patients on Headway

After you have added your new patients to your Headway portal, try to get in touch with them ASAP.


Call, text, and email your patients: ask if they can accept the invitation on Headway by the end of the day.
