Ms Violet Aberham, LMHC, earned her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Brooklyn College and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from SUNY Stony Brook. In addition, she obtained a degree in Occupational Studies from NY College of Health Professions, and has been a practicing New York State Licensed Massage Therapist since 2004.
Some of Ms Aberham’s trainings include post-graduate study in family systems theory at the Ackerman Institute for the Family; cognitive-behavior therapy at the Albert Ellis Institute; sexuality at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy; EMDR Levels 1 and 2 with William Zangwill, PhD; Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction at NY Insight Meditation Center; and Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy (EFT) at NYCEFT. She has worked with diverse populations as a psychotherapist in various outpatient mental health settings, and has experience working with struggling adolescents and their families as a Multi-Systemic Therapist.
Ms Aberham’s practice is informed by her holistic, humanistic and trauma-sensitive approach. She is passionate about creating a healing, supportive and safe space for clients to evolve and reach their highest potential.
