Life is tough! I recognize and understand that certain events can throw life into instant chaos. In the aftermath we may feel powerless and confused about our direction in life. Making transitions in life(i.e. having a child, career change, and divorce) can be stressful. Working with a therapist is a great opportunity to gain a new perspective, to increase self-esteem and feel more confident about the decisions we are making.
My name is Tatiana Grant and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor. I graduated from Long Island University with a Master’s Degree in Counseling. I have also been trained as a Birthing Doula and studied Integrative Nutrition. I have been in the Mental health field since 2010, providing a wide array of services. In working with numerous populations I have discovered a real passion for working with women. Particularly women transitioning to a new phase of life.
My approach varies from client to client. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (how our thoughts, feelings, behaviors affect each other), Systems Therapy (the different roles you play in life) and Motivational Interviewing (what motivates you to make changes). I prefer to use a mixture of approaches depending on what you are experiencing at the time, knowing that your treatment goals may change throughout treatment.
What can you expect from me? I offer free consultations so that we can ensure this new relationship is the best fit for both of us. I am very easy going and enjoy completing clinical assessments and therapy with my clients. I love interacting and getting to know what makes you the best version of yourself. I know that asking for help is a difficult process. It can be scary to trust another adult with our secrets, our past traumas and our current situation. I know that you are not taking this decision lightly. Please know that I will be there for you, through every step of the way.
