I offer my clients a bedrock of honesty and stability based on my training in evidenced-based practices. I have long believed in the art of asking beautiful questions to each client so that they can find their own way. The right question at the right time can cut through years of pain. My therapy is not vague. It sometimes offers tough love-type feedback. But it does give each patient meaningful insight that goes beyond the surface of their lives.
As part of therapy, I offer even-keeled appraisals of the latest information on mental health and psychotherapy to each patient so that they can make up their own minds about what is useful to them. One aspect of what I do as a therapist is educate my clients about the mind and about their own potential as human beings. I've seen this lead to real healing.
My journey as a psychotherapist has been passionate and profound. I became a fellow at the Institute for Psychoanalytic Education at the NYU Langone School of Medicine and then a trauma therapist. I am proficient in mindfulness, CBT, and DBT. My practice is an expression of the person I am-- independent, honest, and curious. My clients are the same.
