Beginning therapy is often a scary and vulnerable step for many. It is my hope that I can help you take that first step in your journey towards self-fulfillment. I also hope to help you find the stability and peaceful life that you want and deserve. My name is Raul Zambrano and I have been in the field of Mental Health for 9 years. I was born and raised in Daytona, Beach FL. I moved to the Charlotte, NC area in December 2017 after earning my Master's Degree and am now proud to call this area my home. Over the past six years I've worked in many different environments, including an inpatient hospital, mental health agency, and several private practices in the state of Florida. My time as a therapist in many different work environments has allowed me the privilege of working with a diverse clientele. My time at an inpatient hospital allowed me to work with clients through such issues as severe depression, anxiety, trauma, and suicidal ideation. Since moving to Charlotte, I have worked in a private practice setting, and have counseled several clients struggling with addiction. I am a trauma informed therapist, and have a passion helping those who have experienced physical or sexual abuse, emotional abuse, childhood bullying, negative self-confidence, and complex grief. I am also passionate about helping individuals and couples with marital/relationship issues, sexual/intimacy issues, and issues with parenting.
My educational background in counseling includes a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 2014, and a Master of Science in clinical mental health counseling in 2017, both from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. I am certified as a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) from the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). I currently have an active license as a licensed clinical mental health counselor (LCMHC) in the state of North Carolina. License #14227. I am also a certified telehealth provider in the state of Florida.
I engage clients in several modalities of therapy including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Adlerian therapy, and existential therapy. It is important for me to meet every client where they are in the therapy process, and I seek to develop a collaborative approach appropriate for every one of my clients. I am an all-inclusive therapist, and accept all adolescent and adult clients regardless of race, ethnicity, faith, sexual orientation, and sexual identity. I am also an ally of the LGBTQ+ and kink communities.
