Great to meet you!

I am a therapist with almost 40 years of experience, having worked in various settings and with diverse populations. With a multicultural background and fluency in both English and Spanish, I bring a rich and inclusive perspective to my practice. My graduate training in psychology, combined with extensive experience in private practice and public service, has equipped me with the skills to help clients resolve dilemmas that hold them back and cause suffering.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Initially, when clients first come to me for assistance, they often feel confused and ambivalent about the true nature of their problem. This can result in symptoms such as anxiety and depression and if left unresolved, stress, substance abuse and in some cases self harming behavior. Together we will explore the roots of your conflict, identify conflicting thoughts and emotions, and empower you to make choices that facilitate progress.

What you can expect from our first session

The ultimate goal of therapy is to resolve internal and external conflicts and in so doing so, alleviate suffering, We will focus on understanding your perceptions about your situation, help you to identify and process the conflicting thoughts and emotions contributing to your dilemma and help you consider alternative perspectives that may shed light on new solutions. During initial sessions, I also assess for anxiety and provide strategies to mitigate its effects, such as relaxation techniques.
