Choosing the right therapist can be tricky. That's why background information can be so important. I want therapy to be a place where you can feel safe and supported, while also offering a source of direction during difficult times. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with experience working with all types of issues in adults, 18 and older.

I specialize in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a newer treatment modality which pushes people out of their comfort zone, and onto living a valued life. The premise of ACT is that people are most at peace when they are living life in accordance to their values and the things they hold important. I can work with you to identify your values, and the actions needed to be doing what matters most to you, all while carrying negative emotions and thoughts.

I also have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy and a few other modalities. I try and choose technique based on each individual, their needs and their preferences.

Ultimately, my style is very straight forward and transparent. I believe the direction of therapy should be led by the client, with guidance from the therapist. I offer an individualistic, open minded approach, with a progressive feminist lens. In order for therapy to be successful, it's important to have open conversations about goals and work as a team on how to best achieve those goals.
