Great to meet you!

My name is Omar Sandoval and I am a Mexican-American bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor practicing since 2017. The persistent financial, social, and inter- and intrapersonal adversity coming from a low socioeconomic status single parent home could have defined me were it not for hope, discipline, education, luck, and my hobbies. Overcoming these obstacles ignited my lifelong curiosity and pursuit for understanding the human condition and improving upon it when and where possible.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have experience assessing and addressing complex multicultural, identity, motivational, self-esteem, and self-actualization issues with underserved clients. Though I have an eclectic person-centered integrative psychotherapy approach to treatment, I primarily use cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodynamic therapy to recognize, scrutinize, and modify problematic beliefs, thoughts, and behaviors and their past and current origins, meaning, causes and alternatives.

What you can expect from our first session

We will work towards a better way of being which may include but is not limited to an awareness of why you do what you do and how to act, react, and live in a comparatively less maladaptive yet healthier manner through pro-social coping and skills building using your strengths and goals as a foundation. I look forward to walking alongside you and/or your loved one on our journey to better mental health and a better way of being.
