Great to meet you!

Hello, I am Therapist Merideth, and I have made it my purpose in life to help those who are struggling find relief from their suffering, and I wholeheartedly believe this is possible for everyone through the development of adaptive skills, self compassion and acceptance!

I completed my formal education and training in counseling at the College of William and Mary in 2012. I enjoy working with people from all different backgrounds who want to live happier, healthier lives.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, trauma, and self esteem building. I strive to create a caring and empathic environment, while at the same time challenging enough to help you grow. I use a combination of techniques based in cognitive behavioral therapy, compassion focused therapy, and mindfulness. In other words, I teach you the skills you need to approach your specific pain with acceptance and kindness so you can work courageously to end your suffering.

What you can expect from our first session

Working with me, you can expect to learn adaptable, real life skills to help you experience a decreased sense of arousal and navigate life in a healthier way. You can also expect to identify unhealthy patterns you may be stuck in, and develop healthier, more adaptive ways of coping.
