I work well with individuals who struggle with controlling their emotions, and who have had a hard life. There is something about sharing pain with someone who is going to help you through it in whatever way you need. Some people need to process what is going on, some people are looking for coping skills to manage what they are going through, and some people are looking to problem solve. I have skills in each of those areas and can help you find out where you need right now, as well as what you might need in the future.
Professionally I have had experience and training in using CBT, DBT, and TRM all from a trauma informed perspective. These are evidence based treatments for many different presenting problems. I have done individual and group therapy in both of these treatment models depending on the client's need. I have also had success in trauma-informed bibliotherapy.
Talking about the "hard stuff" with someone new can be really scary. Give it a chance and I hope to do some really great work with you.
