I believe that every individual has the ability to tap into their lived experiences and find the emotional resiliency to keep the momentum going towards their overall life goals. I practice radical genuineness as a therapist, and want my clients to feel supported and validated through their therapy experience.
A bit about my approach to therapy
My foundational training in DBT guides my treatment approach in working with clients who present with challenges in emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. My approach to treatment draws from training in evidence based practices of ACT, CBT, IPT and MI, along with traditional psychodynamic psychotherapy, mindfulness, and movement-based practices. Therapy is an empowering journey, and I encourage clients to be active participants in their sessions.
What you can expect from our first session
Therapy is a process by which an individual begins to see how they can create a life worth living, and I am honored to walk with you on this journey. Clients can expect to experience curiosity and enthusiasm during sessions, and feel challenged when faced with new perspectives that prompt an exploration of thought patterns or longstanding beliefs that do not serve a purpose for them anymore. The goal of therapy will be to develop the skills and tools to uncover your potential and build mastery.
