I am a Doctorally prepared Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner with 15 years of health care experience. I received my Doctorate and Masters degrees from the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) IHP in Boston and began there as a researcher investigating the neural pathways of thought disorders and the brilliant mind. I became fascinated with restructuring negative thought patterns and enhancement of cognitive abilities, and was inspired to transition from research to clinical practice.
My vast experiences as a researcher, nurse, and clinical nurse specialist inform my understanding of human emotions and enhance my ability to diagnose and manage various psychological and psychiatric conditions. I have expertise in treating depression, anxiety, attentional disorders, addictions, panic, bipolar disorder, and other conditions such as insomnia. I am trained in motivational interviewing and focus on creating a therapeutic environment where clients are free to share their inner experience and emotions. Using an eclectic approach which incorporates holistic and psychopharmacology techniques, I work with clients across the lifespan, including adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients. I recognize that medications affect everyone differently, and customize treatment for each individual client. My main goal is to maximize treatment benefits with minimal side effects.
