Joan

Lera Joan Lind, is a Licensed Professional Counselor who specializes in helping her clients overcome the issues of life. Her goal is to form safe and trusting relationships with her clients. One of her objectives in working with clients is to help them live purposeful, and satisfied lives. Having overcome life-altering losses of her own and having become a Licensed Professional Counselor she has obtained the tools to help others overcome as well. Today she works with children, adolescents, and adults who are struggling with the issues of life including mental illness. She has extensive experience working with those who have endured trauma. Traumatic experiences often involve marriage and family issues, addiction, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, anger/rage, panic attacks, violence, suicidal and homicidal thoughts, other self-harm, and low self-esteem. She is trained in and often utilizes Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or TF-CBT with those in these situations. She employs other theoretical orientations as well. These include: Solution Focused Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapies, Behavior Therapy, and Person Centered Therapy.
