I specialize in working with teenagers (13+), young adults, and adult women struggling with anxiety, depression, and life transitions, including motherhood. I work from a strengths-based framework and use cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT) as well as mindfulness strategies to help you resolve difficult issues and identify and connect with your inner resources. I enjoy sharing relevant articles, books, and other resources and may use journaling or poetry in session. I have worked as a counselor in local middle and high schools, as well as with students in college and university settings.
I have significant interest in maternal mental health. I enjoy supporting women who may be experiencing postpartum anxiety and depression or who are otherwise having difficulty adjusting to the experience of motherhood. My research on this topic was published in The Journal of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health in 2015.
