As an LPC/LMHC and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, she uses collaboration, evidenced-based counseling, and Vagal interventions to form the foundations for overcoming obstacles and creating mental and physical well-being.
Janet's counseling background includes inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth programs for clients working through trauma and chronic pain, complex PTSD, depression/grief, anxiety, and ADHD. Her therapeutic approach is from an interpersonal neurobiological perspective, integrating multiple modalities to create a unique treatment for each individual. Treatment plans may include aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), art therapy, somatic experiencing, neurolinguistic programming, and neurobiological education, among other disciplines.
Your therapist remains active in the community, previously volunteering at the Pool of Siloam Medical Clinic and with LSU’s Neonatal ICU Rock-A-Baby program. She has given numerous professional presentations, and she currently enjoys training service dogs, working with Habitat for Humanity, and maintaining active membership the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign War.
