Ivan C. Navarro is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#78095). He completed a Bachelor of Arts in Communication at the University of St. Thomas and a Bachelor of Divinity at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He entered the field of mental health by earning a Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling at Rivier University. Mr. Navarro has spent the last six years offering psychotherapy and other mental health services in a variety of settings. He has worked with clients of almost all ages and of many different backgrounds. He has provided counseling to children and adolescents in private practice, residential institutions, and a psychiatric hospital. He also has experience working with adults and couples in private practice. He holds his counseling sessions either in English or Spanish. Mr. Navarro has experience with group counseling, family counseling, psychoeducation, assessments, and consultations.


Mr. Navarro’s areas of expertise include counseling for anxiety, grief and bereavement counseling, and counseling for trauma, among other areas. He currently provides psychotherapy to teenagers and adults of all ages who struggle with various mental health disorders or who are looking for emotional stability in the midst of life’s many difficulties. Mr. Navarro’s preferred approach to psychotherapy is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for most of the cases with which he works. He also provides psychotherapy that is client-centered and trauma-informed. His therapeutic style and his counseling sessions accommodate the specific needs of each client. In this manner, Mr. Navarro offers psychotherapy that is compassionate and efficacious.


During his time away from work, Mr. Navarro enjoys spending time with his family, gardening, hiking, playing tennis, or admiring various forms of art, such as classical sculptures or any performing art. He also loves cooking and reading books in one of the three languages that he speaks.
