I am Dr. Henrietta Okpala. I am a New York State licensed Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with Doctorate in Nursing Practice and 21 years’ experience in treatment of mental disorders across the lifespan. My area of expertise include; Diagnosis and treatment for Psychosis, Anxiety disorders, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, ADHD, Impulsivity, Aggression, Geriatric Psychiatry, and child/Adolescent psychiatry.

In my extensive years of practice in Psychiatry, I have worked for underserved communities in the hospitals and out-patient community clinic comprising the largest healthcare establishment in the New York metropolitan area. I also serve as secretary of the board of directors to one of the largest non for profit Human Services Organization in the area providing services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. I am also a member of Nigerian Nurses Association USA, NY chapter a 501 (C) (3) organization catering to educating and creating awareness of different illness for preventive purposes in different communities both here in USA and in Africa.

I am equipped with a wealth of experience acquired through practice and I have come to understand that mental health is key to physical health. To maintain holistic function of a human being, my goal is to utilize the best available evidence based treatment combination to restore optimal function of the mind and body.
