Great to meet you!
I am a licensed marriage and family therapist in the states of Nevada, Texas, and Tennessee. I have been practicing therapy for ten years and have been providing teletherapy (online) services for eight years. I specialize in the treatment of trauma and co-occurring disorders such as depression, anxiety, addiction, and relational (marriage/couple/family) problems. In addition, I specialize in working with women, military lifestyle, rural communities, and Christian faith.
A bit about my approach to therapy
I maintain a holistic practice which, and if you chose, can incorporate lifestyle changes, nature and Biblical principles as components of healing. Additionally, my therapeutic style emphasizes empowerment, self-reflection, self-compassion, self-accountability, and congruence as foundations for healing. My therapeutic approach, although Cognitive-Behavioral at the core, is client centered, trauma informed, and unique to each person, their relationships, their experiences, and circumstances.
What you can expect from our first session
I believe the relationship between the therapist and persons seeking therapy is one of mutual respect, honesty, and equality. I will be present and explore with you, and at times empathetically challenge you. I view life as a journey of experiences and relationships- both inward and outward. Therapy can help enhance that journey and although there are a lot of unknowns in therapy, you can count on me to be empathetic, genuine, and accepting.
