Dr. Evelyn Perez is a Certified Teacher, Licensed Psychologist (#37832), Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (#32898), and Nationally Certified School Psychologist with extensive training and experience in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents of diverse backgrounds. She majored in Interdisciplinary Studies with a Specialization in Reading, and also earned her Master of Arts in School Psychology from Texas State University at San Marcos. Dr. Perez earned her doctorate in School Psychology from the University of Houston, where she completed research on the school climate as it relates to educators’ traits, perceptions, and reactions to aggressive behavior. She participated in the LoneStar Leadership in Education in Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disabilities Fellowship (LoneStar LEND) at the University of Texas Health Science Center of Houston in the Department of Pediatrics. LoneStar LEND is an interdisciplinary training model focused on leadership, cultural competency and evidence-based practice to best serve underrepresented and underserved children with Autism Spectrum Disorder/Developmental Disorders (ASD/DDs).
Dr. Perez specializes in ASD and DD assessment and intervention, emotional and behavioral assessment (ADHD, mood disorders, anxiety, behavioral difficulties), assessment of learning disorders (including dyslexia), and emotional-behavioral and crisis intervention. Dr. Perez aims to provide quality assessment and intervention to children and adolescents that are underrepresented and underserved. At Grace Psychological Services, Dr. Perez provides counseling and skills training. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral and solution-focused approaches in her counseling and skills training with children and adolescents. In her spare time, she teaches at a local university and enjoys crafting and hanging out with loved ones and her dogs.
