Great to meet you!

  • Hi, My name is Diane Kelley and I am an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional. I received my Bachelors of Social Work from Long Island University and my Master of Social work from New York University. I have worked in Mental Health Outpatient Clinics, Community Centers, Recovery programs and private practice dealing with a large variety of mental health issues, co-occurring and substance use issues.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort. I am an expert in many areas, but you are the expert on you and together we can help you to figure out how to live your best life. I use an eclectic approach including CBT, Motivational interviewing, Mindfulness, strengths perspective and trauma informed care, just to name a few, to come up with a treatment that is tailor made for you.

What you can expect from our first session

I ask a lot of questions during our first session, None of it is meant to be judgemental but the more I know about you, the more I can figure out how to help. By the end of the first session, I usually have a good idea on how we need to proceed. We will discuss your goals in therapy and usually you'll walk out with some new coping strategy or homework. You will know that this is a safe space for you to share your thoughts and feelings without judgement.
