Hello. I am a psychotherapist with experience working in counseling agencies that served diverse populations.
I have a BA in psychology and a Masters degree in Marriage and Family therapy.
My agency work provided the opportunity in being able to assist people dealing with all kinds of situations.
It was in helping others I was able to discover that my clients with; anxiety, grief, dealing with a transition in life, feeling stuck or even depressed, felt much benefit when working with me.
A bit about my approach to therapy
I'm a very sincere, very "real" person that people find comforting, trustworthy and easy to open up to.
I'm easygoing yet professional. Sometimes I use humor if and when it's appropriate.
I really try to match my approach to your needs in the moment.
During Session, I am completely focused on you in that moment and will sometimes ask for clarification when needed.
What you can expect from our first session
I provide a safe and nonjudgemental atmosphere in order for you to feel safe enough to discuss the thoughts and feelings that have brought you to therapy.
Now I do think it is a great idea to have a therapy journal and keep notes of what we discuss and any "ah ha" moments you get. Since you will only have about an hour a week in session, with a journal, you have a history of your progress to take with you.
