I am a Colorado based licensed therapist currently offering teletherapy services and I have worked in the mental health field for 10 years. I started my career as a victim advocate in domestic violence and then I went on to learn case management for community mental health while working on my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling and I have been a licensed since 2015.
My approach to counseling is an Integrative Therapeutic Model. In this model, I pull from a variety of theoretical schools of thought and perspectives in order to best address the needs of the client. In understanding and conceptualizing the client and their struggle/situation, I incorporate an eclectic method to address problems with suitable clinical methods including but not limited to psychoanalysis, adlerian psychology, reality therapy and experiential learning theories. These theories consider the individual’s experiences, situation and perspective when identifying the problem and utilizing the individuals strengths to create change.
Therapy provides the ability to talk with someone who is non judgmental and who will offer options and alternative perspectives rather than advice. I take the time to listen to my clients and to provide them the support, encouragement and insights they desire in order to move forward feeling empowered and ready for change.
In addition to having extensive training in psychotherapy, I have also trained in women's issues, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy and domestic violence. My integrative approach offers you the opportunity to explore who you are and what changes can be achieved in order to create your very best self and a life worth living.
