Great to meet you!
Hi! My name is Daniel Funk. I am psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner. I have passionately worked in mental health since 2013, as a PCA and RN, and as a psychiatric nurse practitioner since 2018. I have worked in multiple settings, including inpatient, PHP/IOP, outpatient, and telemedicine. I have experience in various mental health disorders, including depression, anxiety, bipolar, ADHD, PTSD, schizophrenia, behavioral, personality, and addiction-related disorders across the lifespan.
A bit about my approach to therapy
I have a patient-centered care approach to care. I incorporate a holistic approach, which often involves a combination of medication, psychotherapy, and lifestyle modification. I have trauma-informed care training, cultural competency training, and I am LGBTQ+-informed.
**This practice does not manage controlled substances (including stimulants and benzodiazepines).
What you can expect from our first session
The first session involves a thorough psychiatric evaluation, including a diagnostic assessment, gathering of psychiatric, psychosocial, family, and medical history, and development of a treatment plan, which takes approximately 60-90 minutes. The subsequent follow-up appointments involve medication management and incorporated psychotherapy, which are scheduled for 30-45 minutes.
