My work has extended to behavioral consultation, training and supportive planning services to educators and caregivers. My approach to clinical services is very much a strengths-based, team approach that is grounded in a foundational understanding of child development, attachment/relationships, functional behavioral analysis and the use of creative therapies/ problem-solving strategies. To ensure that children learn to apply skills learned outside of the session, I strive to make services inclusive of home and/or school whenever appropriate. My practice relies on techniques from various evidence-based approaches, including play and other expressive therapies, behavior therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), mindfulness, and Solution-Focused Therapy.
My practice goal is to work with children and/or tweens, using their strengths and developmentally appropriate practices, to develop effective coping strategies and skills that will enhance their ability to independently manage social, emotional and/or behavioral challenges. I look forward to working (and playing) with you and your family.
