Great to meet you!

I am a licensed clinical social worker with a PhD in social work. My clinical focus is obsessive compulsive disorder, body focused repetitive behaviors (skin picking, hair pulling) and anxiety. I have lived experience, as a mother with a child who has OCD and skin picking, which is what drew me to this area.

A bit about my approach to therapy

Therapy is a collaboration between the client and the therapist, with the client taking an active role in the process. Therapy isn't just something that happens once a week in the therapist's office, it's every moment, every day. My role as the therapist is the guide, walking alongside the client, not leading nor following. It is a collaboration, where we share successes and setbacks, as a team working toward a shared goal.

What you can expect from our first session

The first session is getting to know each other. From our first session, you will have a good idea of whether or not you want to work with me. One of the most important things is finding a therapist you like and feel comfortable with. If you don't have that, no amount of expertise and skill will make up for the lack of a connection. The relationship is continually evolving as the therapy progresses. I encourage clients to give me honest feedback about what they feel works and doesn't work.
