Headway

Christina Lima

My specialty is providing evidenced-based individual, family and group treatment to teens, young adults and their parents. I have been doing so for over 25 years, nearly 20 of them in a school health setting for one of the largest hospital networks in NYC.

When an individual feels connected, wanted and understood by the people who are most important them, life's challenges become less daunting. Personal goals become more attainable. Self-worth and a purpose in life are restored. In my experience, teens, young adults and their parents can all suffer blows to their self-esteem. They all wonder if they are good enough in their assumed roles.

I help teens, young adults and parents to see themselves and their problem situations through a more helpful, transformative lens. I help them develop more effective communication skills and coping strategies, so that they might be better understood and be better equipped to face painful life events (ex. breakups, school issues, life transitions, trauma).
