MY APPROACH TO THERAPY
My place in this world is to be the foundation for people when they feel as if they have none. My duty is to provide my clients with the tools they need to continue the process of healing long after they cease from receiving my services. I am the pillar of strength for my clients to lean on until, together, we find a way for them to stand tall on their own. This is the therapeutic relationship; the definition of healing that lovingly guides me in my practice.
MY THERAPY FOCUS
I specialize in trauma-informed, neuroscience-integrated, compassion-focused treatment, cultivating a safe, nonjudgmental space to help clients process and nurture their strengths and learn skills to overcome relationship challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, and trauma, guiding them towards a path of healing, meaning, and growth.
I provide a holistic, integrated approach incorporating psychodynamic, neurobiological, and cognitive-behavioral theories and mind-body techniques to help clients explore and heal the unresolved, plaguing their lives from the effects of complex trauma.
Applying evidence-based psychotherapy integration of modalities and techniques, I personalize each session according to my client's needs and goals. By holding a safe space for them, I help my clients uncover relational patterns, explore the depths within, unveil their innate strengths and power to overcome life's challenges, and support their true self to flourish in its brilliance with confidence, self-acceptance, and self-love.
MY ROLE AS A THERAPIST
In our therapeutic journey together, clients learn more about their inner true self and situations subjected to neglect, abuse, psychological manipulation, oppression, etc. These unwanted situations may have also become cyclical throughout periods of their life, resulting in immense suffering, distress, self-blame, and guilt. Due to the inner and interpersonal complexity accompanying painful and traumatic experiences, the self becomes repressed from flourishing and expressing its beauty in authenticity.
Through our collaborative work, my clients discover and process the underlying that impact their internal and external influences on their past and present lives. By helping clients bring the unconscious into conscious awareness, they are able to safely explore the depths within to uncover and identify relational patterns that have caused cyclical themes and unwanted thoughts, feelings, or experiences, while unveiling their innate strengths and power to overcome challenges as they move towards a values-driven life.
MY GUIDING ETHICAL PRINCIPLES
Taking a shared decision-making approach to collaborate with my clients on their treatment and progress, clients feel empowered and in control of their decisions and steps towards their goals. I value honesty and openness; thus, I encourage open communication and feedback throughout treatment and, together, make adjustments as necessary as the natural evolution of growth involves change, including in treatment and the progression of therapy.
Honest communication in our work together also helps identify themes that emerge that are often parallel to lives outside of the therapy room. Together, as a team, we explore and process the underlying nature of these parallel manifestations in a safe space whenever they feel ready. At the same time, we attend to the wounded child within as clients continue towards the path of healing and restoration, healthier acceptance and closure, self-compassion and self-forgiveness, serenity and enlightenment, and living an abundant values-based life stemming from their authentic self.
CONTINUED LEARNING AS A PROVIDER
I continue to deepen my learning and enhance my skills through academic coursework and advanced training in my doctoral program. I have also received training in various couples therapy approaches, mindfulness-based interventions, emotionally-focused therapy, complicated grief treatment, neurobiological approaches, advanced clinical diagnosis and psychodynamic therapies, brainspotting, and other evidence-based modalities. Additionally, I'm a certified therapist in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT).
