It takes a lot of courage to seek help and start the counseling process. I work from a trauma informed lens and believe that our bodies and brains are wired for protection. Sometimes our experiences in life have taught our brains to always be on high alert, but with the right tools and collaboration between the client and counselor we have the ability to heal. I am an EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) certified therapist. I also incorporate Polyvagal therapy, CBT and solution focused techniques to help each person learn about and change their negative thinking patterns, automatic body responses, reduce stress and heal from past experiences.
