Great to meet you!

"As for the future, it remains unwritten. Anything can happen, and often we are wrong. The best we can do with the future is prepare and savor the possibilities of what can be done in the present."

-Todd Kashdan

Let's work on your future by addressing the present.

Hello! I'm Cathy and I am a licensed clinical social worker in Virginia with over 5 years of experience. I am trained in the application of EMDR.

A bit about my approach to therapy

I have worked with clients with a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, career challenges, and those struggling with homelessness. I also helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse.

My therapy style is open and interactive. I believe in treating anyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels. My approach combines EMDR, cognitive-behavioral, humanistic, and solution-based therapy.

What you can expect from our first session

I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs. It takes courage to ask for help. If you are ready to take that step, I am here to support and work with you.

You can expect to have some homework and plans of action to implement to report back on during our next session.
