Psychotherapy is a collaborative process rooted in a trusting, supportive relationship. It involved play and celebration as much as it involves discomfort and struggle. We will work together to create a sense of safety that allows for exploration of vulnerabilities, recognition of strengths and understanding of patterns in your life. Change can be difficult even when we know it's needed, and my role is to find the right balance between supporting and challenging you through this process.
I work from a holistic, strengths based, sex positive, and LGBTQ+ affirmative perspective to support the development of a sense of safety in sessions. Who you are is important and I want to work with you in understanding, accepting and integrating your identities, mind, emotions, body and spirit.
As a trained art therapist, I may suggest using art to assist in developing insight, processing feelings, or increasing self-esteem. Everyone has a unique creative voice and I want to support you in learning to hear and trust yours with a goal of learning not of creating “fine art.”
