Great to meet you!

Therapy is hard work, but, reaching out to a therapist is the step that takes the greatest courage. When you reach out to me for therapy, I'm mindful of your courage and will respect your strength to ask for help. I know what it feels like "sitting on a couch" and talking to a therapist because I've battled through mentally dark places myself.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My therapeutic approach will be tailored to meet your needs and goals. I am trained in multiple therapy disciplines, but mostly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Don't worry, I will explain those when we meet and answer any questions you have. I was professionally taught to believe that, "Nobody cares how much you know until they know how much you care."

What you can expect from our first session

I take therapy work seriously and will work hard with you, but I will also expect you to work hard with me, too. I assign homework after nearly every session and look forward to reviewing that homework with you. Some of the best therapy happens through homework.
