Great to meet you!

Peace and blessings! My name is Boisey Bristo, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor. I earned my master's in clinical psychology with a specialization in counseling from Walden University in 2015. I've worked in a range of settings including a behavioral health hospital, recovery and wellness center, and a comprehensive neurorehabilitation clinic. I believe that therapy is less about theory and more about relationships. As your therapist I promise to always keep it real with you.

A bit about my approach to therapy

In addition to my license, I am a Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, and a Certified Brain Injury Specialist. I like to incorporate mindfulness, cognitive behavioral, and person-centered strategies in my approach to counseling. I see myself as a partner in the therapeutic alliance. My guiding principle is, "life is meant to be experienced, not controlled."

What you can expect from our first session

My goal is to stimulate reflection and cultivate self-awareness each session. Goals and outcomes will be specific to the individual and his/her/they present needs.
