Great to meet you!

Hello! My name is Asher Casey (he/him), I'm a transgender male (FTM), queer-identified counselor who is licensed in Maryland District of Columbia, and Florida as a Licensed Professional Counselor. I have been in the mental health profession since 2011 and have been providing therapy services for the past eight years in both private and non-profit settings. I have experience working with clients experiencing life transitions and adjustment issues, relationship issues, and LGBTQIA2S+ concerns

A bit about my approach to therapy

My theoretical orientation is that of an Integrative approach: guiding clients toward seeing themselves as consisting of physical, psychological, mental, and spiritual components joining together as a whole. Techniques incorporated are based on individual needs but could include: mindfulness, CBT, humanistic, meditation, breathwork, yoga, parts work, etc.

What you can expect from our first session

My role is to provide a safe and welcoming space as you explore insights, strategies, and tools to make positive changes in your life. Clients feeling connected, respected and understood is my top priority.

Giving tools to practice and try outside of sessions is part of the process of learning what will work for you and how to implement them with support.
