I have 15 years of experience working with children, teens, and adults at risk of entering the revolving doors of hospitals, treatment centers, and the justice system. I offer individual and family therapy from a psychodynamic perspective that also integrates CBT, DBT, and ACT approaches.
Having worked as a therapist in a variety of settings (in-home, schools, clinics), I am familiar with the many challenges children, families and adults face as well as the ways in which larger systems fail to meet individual needs. My experiences outside of traditional office settings have helped me understand where typical strategies may fall short. I don't believe in "one-size-fits-all" treatments and will work to customize a plan unique to you and your family.
Taking the first step to seek help takes courage. I understand on a personal and professional level how difficult and overwhelming these first steps can be. My main priority is to create a setting where you feel comfortable, understood, and free to express yourself. I believe it’s crucial to foster a trusting and compassionate therapeutic relationship where you can explore patterns in relationships, behaviors and move towards living a more fulfilling life. Therapy is not about “fixing” you or your children, because you aren’t broken. Therapy is about utilizing your strengths and your story to find more effective ways of addressing your needs, learning new skills, gaining new perspectives, and moving toward a higher level of gratification in life.
