The majority of my work has focused on supporting seniors as well as women who are experiencing the end of a relationship, postpartum concerns, anxiety/stress due to a busy life, and bereavement support.
When working with individuals, I view therapy as a collaborative approach that considers the mind, body, and spirit. This requires meeting you wherever you are in life with acceptance and compassion while exploring concerns and learning new ways to cope with life.
l love helping others recognize their own moments of resilience, resources, and successes in order to move towards change. I have worked with many women who were reminded to continue doing what was working for them. I have been informed that I give “woman strength”. However, my belief is that strength is something within an individual.
For the past several years, I have provided services in schools, nursing/assistant living facilities, and medical settings. My work provided the opportunity to obtain knowledge in the areas of grief, loss, anxiety, divorce, aging, and teen pregnancy.
I have been trained to provide Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy which is foundational in my therapeutic work. I have a certificate of completion in perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and completed advanced training for perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Also, I have completed CBT for anxiety and depression through the Beck Institute. If you need support, I would love to connect with you.
While my treatment approach is effective for a range of concerns, my current practice model does not support severe and persistent mental illness, those needing frequent between session intervention, or substance abuse. Services are not provided for children/teens, medication management, custody evaluations, eating disorders, and divorce mediation.
