Great to meet you!

My intention is to create a positive connection allowing you to be yourself and grow, helping with life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss or relationships, using telehealth.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with MSW from UNC-Chapel Hill in 2002. I am intensively trained in DBT, EMDR and certified in hypnotherapy. I have worked in health care and mental health agencies.

A bit about my approach to therapy

My focus is helping you overcome stress from life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss or relationships. In counseling, I teach Mindfulness techniques, DBT skills, EFT tapping, hypnosis and EMDR to help you learn ways to overcome mental health symptoms. I truly enjoy being present with you, to help you make changes or find acceptance.

What you can expect from our first session

I have a goal for clients to gain coping skills and be able to "graduate" from therapy. I hope that clients feel they are listened to and able to express personal thoughts and feelings. I want clients to gain skills in managing extreme emotions to use in their day to day lives.
