Are you ready to actively work on healing stress from life transitions, depression, anxiety, trauma, loss or relationships? My intention is to create a relaxed and peaceful environment allowing you to be yourself and grow. I now work completely through telehealth, and I find clients are as easily able to communicate and learn coping skills, or heal negative life experiences with telehealth as in an office setting. I teach Mindfulness techniques to help you reduce stress and live more in the present. I use counseling, DBT skills, EFT tapping, and EMDR to help you learn ways to overcome mental health symptoms and find peace.
I have a Masters of Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill on 2002, and am dually licensed as an LCSW and LCAS. I am intensively trained in DBT, and trained in EMDR with four years of practice and extensive continuing education. I have worked in hospice, integrated primary care, community mental health and substance abuse services.
I bring a trauma-focused lens to working with mental health and addiction disorders. I have experience in supporting people through illness, caregiver stress, chronic pain, grief and loss. I have a goal for clients to gain coping skills and be able to "graduate" from therapy. I truly enjoy being present with you, to help you make changes or find acceptance.
