I am a DBT-certified therapist (have practiced DBT for 14 years), and an Intuitive Eating certified therapist. I see therapy as a journey we take together; you’re the driver and I'm the helpful passenger or tour guide :) I have been a licensed therapist for 14+ years, working with people with mood disorders, emotion regulation challenges, body image issues, and issues of race and gender. I want to provide support as you create a new chapter in your life, gain insight about yourself, and help you develop healthy coping skills.
I have been trained in a number of therapy modalities including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive-Behavioral therapy (CBT), and Motivational Interviewing. Together we can find what works for you and the goals you want to achieve. There's no "one size fits all" approach to therapy, and we'll use a strengths-based approach to find what works!
I enjoy working with people ranging from early adolescence to late adulthood, and people who are experiencing difficulty adjusting to changes in their lives. I like to help people learn to "love" (or at least accept) their emotions and their bodies. I find myself to be open-minded and non-judgmental with my clients and I love to use humor in my sessions!
